Our Ethos

West Lothian Danceworld, established 39 years ago by Miss Hazel Saunders, is more than just a dance company; it’s a nurturing community built on the values of family, respect, kindness, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. Miss Saunders founded Danceworld to share her passion for dance and teaching with individuals of all ages who have a love for dance.

At Danceworld, our ethos is centered around providing a family-like environment where fun and learning go hand in hand. Our two venues serve as safe spaces where students can express themselves, build confidence, and grow into the best version of themselves. We aim to cultivate happy, confident boys and girls who are prepared for life’s challenges, irrespective of whether they pursue dance as a career or simply enjoy it as a hobby.

With over 80 classes each week, we welcome dancers from age 1 to adults, ensuring everyone feels part of our big, happy dance family. Our students can choose to train for personal enjoyment or pursue professional opportunities in performing, teaching, or choreographing in the UK and beyond. We’re proud that some of our former pupils are now making waves in places like China, London, America, Europe and the UK whether it be performing or teaching.

Our dedicated staff of eight includes six former pupils from our training academy, each excelling in their chosen dance style. We offer expertise in classical ballet, contemporary, commercial jazz, musical theatre, tap, acro, and street dance, ensuring a diverse and top-quality dance education.
